Anesthesiology

Modern anaesthesia and perioperative medicine are increasingly shaped by innovations that improve patient safety, precision, and recovery throughout the surgical pathway. Advances in airway management, depth and neuromuscular monitoring, haemodynamic assessment, point-of-care ultrasonography, regional anaesthesia, and individualized ventilation strategies are supporting more informed clinical decision-making. Enhanced recovery pathways, multimodal analgesia, opioid-sparing approaches, and better perioperative risk assessment further contribute to reducing complications and facilitating earlier recovery. Integration of technology, evidence-based protocols, and multidisciplinary teamwork is also transforming perioperative care. This topic highlights emerging approaches that can strengthen patient safety while improving efficiency, clinical outcomes, and the overall quality of modern anaesthetic practice. The Egyptian Society of Anaesthesiology and Acute Care would conduct a medical conference entitled “World Anaesthesia Day: Innovations in Safe Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine”.
